Music Theory Books

You are welcome to visit a good music store (for example: Long & McQuade or Remenyi House of Music Ltd.), see what they have in stock, consult with the staff and buy one of the books listed below or another good book. If you do not know what to buy - consult with me and I will recommend a book depending on the age, level and musical instrument (if not voice). From time to time I visit Remenyi and can purchase a book for you providing you pay exact amount in advance.

The following books are for beginners to intermediate level students:

  • For beginners and young singers and musicians, I strongly recommend The Full Voice™ Workbook Series. Retail locations and additional information about the workbooks and the supplemental theory books can be found on their website.
  • A young Singer’s Journey by Eileen Baldwin, Jean Ashworth Bartle and Linda Beaupré, (book 1 / book 2 / book 3).
  • Free Music Theory Workbooks by Gilbert DeBenedetti: available to download (PDF format). Not as good as the above mentioned and do not target singers, but free.
